Y’all made it an unforgettable weekend for AMERICANA at BakåtFramåt Vintagemässan. We met wonderful people, enjoyed being hosted by the great event organizers and just had fun with everyone there.
We marveled at how well-turned out all of you were at the event & how great y’all looked in the AMERICANA pieces you selected for yourselves! Here are some of our favorite moments…
Don’t forget that AMERICANA is soon establishing our shops here in Sweden. We’ll have Europe’s *biggest & baddest* American vintage online shop up & running by the new year & a store opening in Stockholm near Drottningatan next year.
In the meantime, you can stay in touch with us by subscribing to AMERICANA‘s mailing list or by joining us on facebook, Twitter or You Tube.
Hope to see y’all again real soon!

Preppy is a classic American fashion that never goes out of style. Based on the traditional look of preparatory and Ivy League students in the U.S., preppy style is being revisited once again in books released this month.
Take Ivy by Teruyoshi Hayashida is the definitive photo essay of preppy style, featuring shots of students on Ivy League university campuses in the 1960s. First published in Japan in 1965, the book has been a sought-after reference for the traditional American style and is hailed by many to be the bible of the preppy look.
Satrical author Lisa Birnbach, the author of The Official Preppy Handbook published 30 years ago, has written True Prep as a contemporary commentary on American preppy style. The sequel aims to examine preppies in the modern context and show how the style and attitude have developed over the last three decades.
