A Christmas sweater is a sweater decorated in glittery snowmen, Santa Claus, trees, Rudolph and just about anything else that shows the world that you’re ready to celebrate the holiday. In the U.S., Christmas sweaters have long been the preferred seasonal attire for grandmothers, school teachers and just about anyone else who is willing to pay for a sweater that can only be worn two weeks out of the year.
Recently, the “ugly Christmas sweater” phenomenon has caught on in America, where young hipsters are ironically wearing their merry knitted confections around the holidays. Some people have even been known to host “ugly Christmas sweater” parties around the holidays. No matter who wears them out in public during the holiday season, coolness is indeed in the eye of the beholder.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
